Kaitlyn and Dan’s Fall Wedding

By Terry Meadows

Kaitlyn and Dan connected on Hinge in March 2018, quickly advancing from online chats to daily FaceTime dates. Their first meeting led to brunch in Washington DC and a shared love for sports, celebrating together as the Washington Capitals won the Stanley Cup later that year. In September 2019, they adopted a black kitten named Moose. Over the next two years, including during the pandemic, Moose became a beloved part of their lives. On September 18, 2020, Dan proposed to Kaitlyn on the rooftop of the Watergate Hotel during what was meant to be birthday drinks. The proposal, set against a sunset over the Potomac River, was followed by a surprise celebration with family.

"The all-inclusive offering from Zion Spring made the venue really stand out to us. Being able to go through one team to plan our wedding rather than juggle multiple vendors for details like florals, linens, photography, and music made the whole process less daunting. Added to that, Zion Springs was the only venue we looked at that offered one wedding per weekend, which allows for the focus to be entirely on the couple celebrating their big day and really allowed us to savor the celebration and spend time with friends."
