DJ and Corey’s Summer Wedding

By Terry Meadows

Before DJ and Corey were born, their families were already connected through DJ's maternal grandmother and Corey’s great-aunt, best friends in their youth.

Their romance began when DJ, home from college, met Corey at a local sports bar. Following a night of exchanged glances and a dance, they parted ways only to eagerly reunite the next weekend at the same venue. This sparked a relationship that flourished over the years.

Their journey was filled with significant moments: the births of their children—Laken, Journey, and River—the purchase of their first home, and an eventual engagement. They celebrated their love with a perfect wedding, surrounded by friends, family, and their children.

"We really wanted somewhere all-inclusive where the celebration could continue for more than one night. We wanted to have time to take it all in and as a constant planner, the bride was hoping to find a venue with a staff that handled most of the heavy lifting so she could enjoy her wedding day without stressing over the details. Zion Springs offered all of this and so much more. The lengths they would go to to get the perfect shot during the pictures, the attention to detail, the food, the professionalism while also being able to ADD to the excitement of the day as if they were friends attending the wedding was incredible. Being able to stay on-site, being catered to and having everything taken care of makes this venue, this experience, priceless."

"Zion Springs is BEAUTIFUL! It is seriously something straight out of a fairytale or a romance movie! It is stunning. As I stalked the website and past weddings for pictures, I imagined my bridesmaids in the field amongst the rows of beautiful trees, the groomsmen posing by the barn, our kids running through the tall grass, my husband-to-be and I kissing on the bridge and still it didn’t do it justice. Even in the blazing heat of an abnormally hot June, it was perfect. We always wanted to get married somewhere that had a rustic feel but modern and that’s hard to find. Somewhere you feel at peace and you can feel the beauty of nature wrapped around you but also it feels luxurious in a way that makes it feel special to be there. I didn’t think I’d be able to describe it or find it until I was there. It was like coming home. "

"Our guests and bridal party raved about the food. All of it. The quiche in the morning of the wedding was the best we have ever tasted. The post-wedding breakfast was also incredible and our guests said the fried chicken was to die for!"

What advice would you give to other wedding couples?

"I did my research, I looked and looked, compared and compared and ultimately every single other venue fell short in one way or another. No one could offer the things that Zion Springs could on paper and that was before stepping foot there. We visited other venues and we didn’t get “the feeling.” I can’t explain it any better than this: it was like coming home. The moment we stepped out of the car and took it in, we knew. My mom and my dad looked at us and just smiled. They felt it too. There’s something special about Zion Springs - it’s the staff and the upgraded barn, the Photo Booth, the bell, food and all that’s included but it’s also in the very soil. It’s in the trees and the stones and the grounds. If you are looking for a venue that will take your stress away and give you the opportunity to enjoy one of the most amazing days of your life, there’s no other option. If you want a multi-day wedding with the people you love and pictures and videos that document the entire experience, look no further. Zion Springs is the place for you just like it was and will always be the place for us. "
