By Terry Meadows
Seven years ago, a girl walked into a bar, spent four quarters at a pool table, and invited a random boy to play. Little did they know, they had each met their forever best friend. Over seven years, filled with shared memories and growth, they're now ready to commit to a lifetime together, with Charlie still playfully losing every game.
Over these seven years, they've transformed from struggling college students into flourishing adults, working as an engineer on submarines and a paramedic, serving the community they love. Their time has been filled with sporting events, movie dates, and worldwide travels, as they built a life together.
Today, they live happily with four dogs and a baby on the way, grateful for the life and connections they've woven together at Zion Springs.
The Engagement
Skyline Drive, Shenandoah
The Rehearsal
"Zion Springs was the perfect place because it allowed for so many people to stay on site, and for us to celebrate all weekend long! "
Wedding Attire
Bride: Leora Bridal
Groom: Modern Groom
"Everything was very simple and tailored to us. We got to make major decisions, but weren’t bothered with every little thing because I didn’t have to choose any vendors or explain how things had to go over and over again as I’ve seen my other friends have to go through. One of our favorite parts was the tasting dinner and being able to show our friends and family exactly what it would be like on the weekend. Everyone had so much fun and it just made everything that much more special and exciting."
The Ceremony
Processional Music: "Look at Me" by Carrie Underwood
"Zion Springs allowed for every detail to be specified to how we wanted it. The atmosphere was relaxed when needed, but definitely allowed for the fun to be turned up! We loved all of the wooden tables and lights around the property. The trees were absolutely gorgeous due to us getting married in October, which is one of both mine and Charlie’s favorite things! Both the manor house and barn are classic and modern/updated enough that we were beyond comfortable for the entire weekend."
The Reception
First Dance: “I Do” by Disney
Dinner: BBQ Chicken, Duck Fat Roasted Potatoes | Donuts
The Cake: Fun-fetti Cake with White and Blue Frosting
"One of my favorite parts about the all inclusive aspect was that they included the cake and allowed for me to design it as I wanted. My favorite kind of cake has always been funfetti, and I’ve always dreamed to have my wedding cake that flavor. Zion Springs was able to do that no problem, and I am beyond grateful because I got what I wanted with no questions asked!"
Sunday Breakfast
"The manor house was so cozy for me and my family. It allowed for all of my friends to stay, including the downstairs area specially equipped with a slide and fun games to make sure my flower girls and ring security were entertained the entire weekend. The guest rooms underneath the barn were so clean and comfortable for the rest of my family and guests."
What advice would you give to other wedding couples?
